Alcohol Awareness Month: Celebrating Kendra’s Journey to Recovery

April is Alcohol Awareness Month—a time to reflect, educate, and inspire hope. At RISE Housing and Support Services, we are proud to highlight the courageous journeys of individuals who have committed to sobriety and transformed their lives. Today, we’re honored to share Kendra’s story—one of resilience, growth, and the power of support.

Kendra’s path to recovery began when she made the decision to reclaim her life from the grip of alcohol. With support from various RISE programs, she has made incredible strides in her healing. These programs provide a structured, supportive environment that empowers individuals to pursue independence while staying connected to critical mental health and recovery resources.

Through her dedication to sobriety, Kendra has experienced positive changes in nearly every aspect of her life. Her mental health has improved, her self-esteem has grown, and she has begun to rebuild meaningful relationships—especially with her family, who now express pride and respect for her commitment to change.

One of the most powerful parts of Kendra’s story is how she has learned to manage stress and anxiety—feelings that once led her to alcohol. Thanks to the tools and techniques she has acquired at RISE, she now approaches those challenges in healthier, more constructive ways.

Kendra is especially grateful for the 24/7 availability of RISE staff, who provide consistent support, encouragement, and a listening ear whenever she needs it. Knowing she has a network of people who care makes all the difference.

Kendra’s recovery is a testament to what’s possible when people are given the right resources, encouragement, and space to heal.

This Alcohol Awareness Month, we celebrate Kendra’s courage. Her journey reminds us that recovery is not only possible—it’s powerful. And with the right support, anyone can rise.
