Mackey Auto Group donated a van, which will be used take residents and clients to and from their appointments and other locations that are important to their health and well being, to RISE as the agency begins the launch of new name, RISE Healthy Housing and Support Services.
Christopher Mackey, presented Sybil Newell with the van on December 7 as they were interviewed by Channel 10. “Back when the agency was founded in 1978, people didn’t really talk about mental health, substance abuse, homelessness, and the name, Transitional Services Association, was kept vague on purpose,” Exec. Dir. Sybil Newell said while explaining the name change. “But these days we’re trying to change that. We’re trying to bring more awareness to the issues and educate the community.”
The Mackey Auto Group is a proud supporter of community organizations who give generously to our community and contribute to the economic and cultural richness of our area. Some of the other ways they’ve supported our community includes donating $25,000 to Saratoga Hospital’s William J. Hickey Women’s Health Services unit and help get babies and families off to a healthy start; donating in conjunction with Subaru of America, 51,153 meals to Feeding America to support those affected by the COVID-19 crisis in the Capital Region; and donating $300 to Saratoga County Performing Arts Center (or other deserving charities) with each Subaru sold during their “Share the Love with SPAC” campaign.
Please join us in thanking the Mackey family for their incredible generosity and support of our community!
