RISE adds Supplies to the Hygiene Pantry Thanks to the Target work.win.give. Program

RISE Healthy Housing and Support Services is the grateful recipient of a $250 Target gift card as part of the company’s work.win.give employee appreciation program.

The program awards two hourly team members in each Target store and distribution center the chance to give a $250 Target donation to a local community organization of their choice—along with a $250 Target gift card to keep for themselves. An employee at the store in Saratoga chose RISE as the community organization of her choice to be the recipient of the gift card.

She chose RISE after learning about us from her neighbor, Mary Brimmer, our UAlbany School of Social Welfare Intern. Mary says, “my neighbor became very interested in RISE last fall when I was collecting winter clothing for the agency’s clothing closet. I explained that we serve Saratoga’s homeless population and have several housing and support services programs for adults with mental health or substance use diagnoses and she felt we provided a wonderful service to the community.”

The work.win.give. program is one a way for Target to “give a little something extra” to their associates to say thanks for their work. Providing a gift card to be given to a local community organization is a part of the company’s philanthropic efforts.

RISE maintains a Hygiene Pantry and a Clothing Closet stocked with items are for the homeless or newly housed. Recently TSA filled Stay Healthy Backpacks using items from the Hygiene Pantry. The generosity of Mary’s neighbor who works at Target, and the generosity of Target for supporting the work.win.give program will be helpful towards maintaining supplies in the Pantry and in the Clothing Closet.
