You can join thousands of Capital Region Participants in the traditional event that has been running since 1916 with just six runners on Thanksgiving Day, November 25th, 2021. The Troy Turkey Trot has grown into one of the largest and oldest turkey trots in the United States!
2021 will feature the return of the live, in-person racing across four separate events: the 5k and 10k run competitions, the one mile Turkey Walk, and the Grade School Mile. Due to the everchanging state of things, there will still be a virtual option to participate in this capital region tradition. There will be a non-live running even that you can join and run anytime from 10am Thursday, November 25th till 5pm Saturday, November 27th.
Visit the Troy Turkey Trot Website to learn more about the event as well as register to participate!
Meals on Wheels
America’s senior citizens need your help! Meals on Wheels of America is not only a meal-assistance program, but they provide even more than a meal. Their meal drop off’s provide seniors with a regular visit and watchful eye. Each delivery comes with food to provide the body with nutrients, as well as compassion and care that our aging neighbors desperately need.
A donation to the Meals on Wheels helps provide the elderly with the food, love and emotional support they need during these very difficult and challenging times.
Please visit the Meals on Wheels Website if you know a senior who is in need this holiday season or to make a donation to help seniors in need. You can also sign up here to become a volunteer. Due to COVID-19, the need for new volunteers to assist with meal deliver’s is more than ever before.
