Please join us in congratulating the November Recognition Award Recipients!
Rise to the Extra Mile Recognition
The Rise to the Extra Mile Recognition is given to highly motivated individuals who go that extra mile in their job. Rise to the Extra Mile honorees get to park in a designated parking space at the RISE administration office.
Please join us in congratulating John Shoemaker, Supported Housing Program Director, as the November Rise to the Extra Mile honoree! John went above and beyond working on organizing the Chart Archives and developing a system to help keep it organized in the future.
Thank you John!
Rise to the Occasion Recognition
The Rise to the Occasion Recognition is given to individuals who see a need within the agency and go above and beyond to fill that need.
Please join us in congratulating Edgewood House Staff members – Ian Vonie, Maggie Vogel, Hannah Abare, and Rachel Miller-Warrner – as the November Rise to the Occasion Recognition recipients. They all have worked hard to keep Edgewood House running smoothing and efficiently while the program was short staffed.
Ian, Maggie, Rachel and Hannah all consistently worked overtime hours and traded shifts to accommodate each other’s requests for time off while the program was short staffed. They all often worked alone for long hours, managing the myriad of daily responsibilities a Community Residence presents without help or assistance. In addition to the outstanding work they did with their regular client caseloads, they each completed service plan work, and took on all aspects of client management for other residents outside of their respective caseloads as the need arose. They all also helped foster a consistent and informative chain of communication amongst program staff which allowed each subsequent staff and any relief staff to be current about the state of the house for the residents to remain safe and supported.
Despite the long hours that Maggie, Rachel and Hannah worked, they were able to engage with Ian, the Edgewood House Program Director, to seek professional development. They all identified and made their own the necessary tasks, such as menu planning and meal prep, scheduling transportation and managing client appointments, ordering and manage medication refills, and keep stocks of cleaning materials in place without need for supervision.
Ian, Maggie, Rachel, and Hannah have continued to perform at a high level despite the professional challenges of the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent staffing shortage. They each continue to demonstrate the work ethic, insight, and adaptability exemplified in the RISE ethos.
Thank you Ian, Rachel, Hannah, and Maggie!
