Please join us in congratulating Renee Ramsey as the November 2024 Staff on the Rise recipient and on her recent promotion to the Support Services Director! Renee’s commitment to the individuals we serve, her leadership skills, and her unwavering dedication and hard work exemplify the qualities of a Staff on the Rise recipient.
Renee began at RISE in November 2021 as a Youth Care Manager and was quickly promoted to the Senior Youth Care Manager position. Earlier this year, Renee stepped into the role of agency Compliance Officer, however, when the position of Support Services Director became available, she applied because her background and skill set would better serve the agency in this role.
“I’m excited to be the Support Services Director.”
“I’m excited to be the Support Services Director. I really enjoy working with staff and building programs,” Renee explains. “I like helping people and the trickle down effect of seeing them provide help to others. Building positive relationships with the staff, bringing the team together, and establishing connections out in the community are also aspects of the position that I enjoy.”
Renee will oversee several programs in her new role including, both Adult and Youth Care Management, Housing First, and Hedgerow House. Renee will also be developing a program from the ground up as she opens the Home Community Based Services (HCBS) program. Renee says “I am excited for this new program! It will be a great addition to what RISE can offer.”
Renee found that her passion is working directly with children and their families.
Renee’s background is in education, including an Associates degree in Early Childhood Development Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She began her career teaching, then ran a successful daycare, allowing her to use her education background, and work with families, while raising her own kids. There she found her passion of working directly with children and their families and switched her career path towards human services. Prior to coming to RISE she was Youth Program Director and an Assistant Executive Director at a local non-profit agency.
“I was drawn to human services because I enjoy working with people and giving them access to the necessary resources and knowledge they need to succeed” Renee explains. “I love being out in the community and engaging with families. Working for a human services agency allows me to reach and make a positive impact on both kids and adults.”
“RISE is an awesome organization to work for.”
“I really enjoy working at RISE,” Renee shares. “It is an awesome organization to work for. The agency genuinely cares about the people we serve and the community. I enjoy the people I work with and believe in the services that we provide to the community. My immediate career goal is to be a successful supervisor, to be positive, supportive, and enhance staff professional growth.”
Renee accredits her work ethic to her father. “He was an educator, and personnel director for a school district.” Renee shares that “he was very genuine, fair, and a very hard working, dedicated person. He always gave a hundred and ten percent in everything he did which has always inspired me to live the same way.”
Renee lives with her husband of 38 years. They have three adult children, five grandchildren, and one more on the way. “I love spending time with my family,” she shares. “I also enjoy playing with our dog. She is a rescue and has high anxiety, so she is a lot of work, but a lot of fun.” Renee also likes attending her son’s musical gigs, spending time with the grandchildren, visiting the beach, crafting, spending time with animals, boating, and swimming. “That’s what we do all summer boating, swimming, and going on hikes with the kids and grandkids. Working with animals is also very important to me. I like to go to the animal shelter to visit with them. My next goal is to start volunteering regularly at the shelter.”
RISE administration appreciates all that Renee does for the agency and for the individuals we serve. We’re thrilled to celebrate Renee’s impressive journey with RISE! As Compliance Officer, Renee played a vital role in updating the RISE HIPAA Policy and forms, as well as the Program Supervision forms. Her collaboration with Program Directors to unify chart and file cabinet labeling has greatly enhanced our efficiency. Her support for the Youth and Adult Care Management Programs has been invaluable. Additionally, Renee’s leadership in co-directing the Ambassador Program with Unlimited Potential has made a significant impact. We are so grateful for her unwavering dedication and hard work! Please join us in congratulating her as our November Staff on the Rise recipient!
