We Appreciate The Giving Circle!

RISE appreciates The Giving Circle for their dedication to individuals experiencing homelessness and to the Adelphi Street shelter!

The Giving Circle Outreach Team has been helping those living on the streets and in shelters for the past 12 years. The outreach team consists of Rachael Dwyer, Melissa Phillips, Patty Riggi, Jay Scarborough, and Jack Sullivan. This amazing team all met 12 years ago while volunteering during the Shelters of Saratoga Code Blue opening. The Giving Circle started serving dinners on Thursday nights the following year and has been doing it ever since. For the past almost 2 years The Giving Circle, along with friends and family, has been serving homemade meals to guests at the Adelphi Street shelter every Thursday night.

None of the outreach team was familiar with anything homelessness related before volunteering that very 1st night. Now the Outreach Team has not only helped countless individuals experiencing homelessness but also developed an amazing friendship that extends beyond helping on Thursday nights. Besides serving dinner at the shelter, The Giving Circle also helps collect clothing and supplies, assists with filling out paperwork, transportation, helps to pay individuals expenses, and most importantly providing friendship.

One member of The Giving Circle particularly stands out for going above and beyond and that is Jay Scarborough. Every single day he goes and picks up lunch at the soup kitchen and delivers it to The Adelphi Street Shelter. Read more about Jay in his blog.

The Giving Circle outreach team is proud of the work they do each and every week and look forward always to coming together and helping those in need. RISE appreciates them and the support they provide to the Adelphi Street shelter!
